Harecastle should be open today

IT IS expected, Canal & River Trust relate, that Harecastle Tunnel will reopen today, Wednesday.

It tells that the rescue boat will be repaired and back on site this morning, but has not yet confirmed this, Keith Gudgin reports.

Rudder snapped

It was the boat's rudder that snapped that caused the closure of the tunnel to navigation, as boats are not allowed through without the provision of rescue, and the rescue boat was unable to undertake such.

However the trust tell the navigation is open even giving its booking link.
