YESTERDAY, Thursday, saw two more waterways closed.
It keeping up the trend of an average closure a day for the past months.
One is the Leeds & Liverpool, with Greenberfield Flight closed again, owing to a problem with its top lock (44), Keith Gudgin reports.
Middlewich Branch
The other stoppage is on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union, with the closure of Stanthorne Lock, (2).
This has a fault with its tailgate that will not allow navigation, with further information promised by the trust on Monday, 9th October.
LATEST: A 'method of repair' has been established and the work is now awaiting specialist contractors to fabricate the necessary parts that failed.
