MY AGE demanded I stopped this careering about as a continuous cruiser but settle down into a marina, writes T. Lang.
Above the rate of inflation
So the 'double whammy' of the price hike on my boat licence would not hit me so hard, but then I re-read your article and realised though I will not be clouted with the eventual 25% increase as a continuous cruiser—that would certainly have made me think twice about staying on the water—it then sunk in that boat licences were to increase above the rate of inflation.
So that is absolutely wide open for CaRT to increase as much as it wants, and over five years could easily be another 25%.
That clearly means in five years time boat licences for continuous cruiser will have leaped 50%. So that really will see a clear-out. Me being one of them.
