Rochdale closed at least a week but by unstable building

THE Rochdale Canal is closed from 11am today, Monday, by an unstable building.

This third party building by the canal is at Littleborough, Keith Gudgin reports.

Deemed unstable

It is closing the waterway from Lock 41 to Lock 43 as it is deemed unstable by Canal & River Trust and thus a danger to boats.

There is at present contact with the owners of the building but nothing is expected until this coming Friday 25th August.
