Getting their fingers out!

THIS week has seen a couple of instances where for a change, the trust has got its fingers out and cleared two stoppages very quickly.

BradleySwingBridgeThe stoppage on the Regent's Canal that the stoppage notice told was closed on Monday afternoon due to an issue with the offside top gate, was quickly cleared and the waterway reopened by early afternoon the following day.

Same afternoon

The other stoppage quickly attended to, was Bradley Swing Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool (pictured), which was not a regular failure, having a stoppage notice, again on Monday, but this time back in action in the same afternoon.

This is definitely how it should be, as in the old days of British Waterways, so is the constant harping about the many delays in repairing failures at last getting home?
