Massive development by Stourbridge Canal

A MASSIVE development will soon flank the canal at Old Wharf Road in Stourbridge.

Work will start next year by Taylor Wimpey on 256 new homes in the town in a new housing estate by the side of Stourbridge Canal, Roger Fox reports.

Canal facing balconies

The building of the homes has now received planning approval, with some of them having canal facing balconies.

These are being constructed on a former derelict industrial site on the edge of Stourbridge that will transform the waste land with work starting early next year.

All the old factory buildings previously on site have now been demolished, with their foundations removed and the land prepared for the development.

Public consultation

There was a public consultation period and planning application stage which helped shape the proposals with suggestions from the public.
