Trent & Mersey still closed at Anderton

IT WAS a January storm that caused the landslide that closed the Trent & Mersey Canal near Anderton.

This was on the 21st January, but Canal & River Trust maintain the navigation and towpath will remain closed at Soot Hill Bridge, Keith Gudgin reports.

Explore suitable methods

It tells that its teams continue to explore suitable methods to be able to safely repair the significant slip of material from third party owned land and in the meantime carry out regular monitoring surveys of the slope.

All that is offered is that a further update will be on Tuesday the 6th April.
