Not the place to be

I WAS a bit shocked to see Foxhangers photograph competition winner in the vee of Pulteney Weir, writes Malcolm Fletcher.

Whilst there would appear to be little water running on that particular day I would not think it a suitable place for a narrowboat much of the time.

Capsize

Can I refer you to the MAIB investigation of the Swan capsize of 10th October, 2014 and report of 23rd January 2015 when a 27 foot ex RN motor whaler, the standard sea boat for many years, was involved in doing the same thing.

Whilst this boat had been modified it was basically a sea boat and not a flat bottomed narrowboat with possibly inexperienced hirers on board.
