Boat sunk on purpose

THIS boat is completely blocking the Worcester & Birmingham Canal at Alvechurch, with it understood that it was sunk on purpose.

We are told by a boater at the scene that the couple on it broke-up, with the man then deliberately sinking the boat so that it is completely blocking the waterway, with not enough water for boats to pass over its sunken bow that is too close to the bank for boats to pass between it and the boat.  We are told that it has caused long queues in both directions.
