Reactive Response Team on the job

WE ARE told that Canal & River Trust's Reactive Response Team is attending a stoppage on the South Stratford Canal.

This is as Lowsonford Lock (28) on the waterway that has failed with the navigation closed, Keith Gudgin reports.

But will it be a 'quick-fix' as the recent stoppages or will this be a long drawn-out stoppage?

Bottom gate damage

The lock had to be closed yesterday, Monday 28th, as there has been damage to the bottom gate that has caused it to be inoperable, which is  being assessed today.

After which a repair plan will be drawn-up—usually a pointer towards a long stoppage with contractors involved.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, may give us the answer.
