Sunk boat removed

THE Anglo-Welsh hire boat that was sunk by its all-male crew in a Kennet & Avon Canal lock in Bath (Drunk hirers sank boat) has now been removed after 12 days, and the waterway reopened.

The crew had the boat's stern on the cill as it was descending Wash House Lock, and none of them seemed to have the nous to drop the paddles to stop the boat sinking, though the hire company told a local newspaper that it was an 'experienced crew'.

Problems

There were problems with Canal & River Trust as explained by Pam Pickett, (CaRT prevent sunken boat removal) but eventually someone was brought in who quickly had the boat floating and out of the lock.

It is still has not known how many men were on the boat.
