Huddersfield closures

LOCK 6 on the Huddersfield Broad Canal is at present closed as one of its gate collars has broken and the lock closed to navigation.

Canal & River Trust report that it is attempting to source the required parts and then repair the gate, but no intimation is given as to when the repair will be completed Keith Gudgin tells us.  The reason given is 'maintenance'...

Huddersfield Narrow

To pile on the agony of those cruising the Huddersfield Canals, Lock 22W on the Huddersfield Narrow was also closed yesterday, Monday, owing to a void appearing in the off-side tailgate area., of lock 22 West. This is at present being investigated, but it is expected that work will then take place today to fix the problem.
