Beware Beko

A WARNING by Beko PLC has been issued that its older gas cookers can produce dangerous levels of carbon monoxide if used with the door closed.

There is an on-going campaign to by Beko to find and fix dangerous older models of Beko, Flavel and Leisure gas cookers that can produce potentially fatal levels of carbon monoxide, Mick Fitzgibbons tells us.

Grill dangerous

The company are advising boaters with older models that the grill is dangerous to use with the door closed, but it is something that can be attended to, and boaters with such models are advised to contact the supplier or engineer, or the Beko if the former is not known.

However we learn that the Boat Safety Scheme examiners will not check appliances for the models concerned in the recall notice or record model numbers of appliances in general.
