Further delay in opening Hebden Bridge facilities

THOUGH Hebden Bridge facility was to be reopened last week there has been another delay.

This means boaters' are still unable to use the facilities including the Elson disposal, Keith Gudgin reports.

Boaters are told that work to repair the pontoon decking is taking longer than anticipated due to the timbers being in a worse condition than first thought. The image is from a boater that was stuck at the services.

Access from a boat

This means there is no access to the facilities from land, but boats can access by boat via the pontoon from a boat, on the canal side.

Workers are retuning today, Wednesday, to continue repairs and will assist boaters wanting to use the facilities from land.

The trust apologises for the poor wording of the last update.
