Two year old drowns at moorings

A two years old girl fell into the river at Nene moorings in Peterborough, later passing away in hospital.

Her parents were visiting a nearby car show last weekend when the girl fell into the river by the Embankment moorings in between two boats, Alan Tilbury reports.

Took a turn for the worse

She was pulled out of the water and the emergency services called and was taken to hospital, and though she was initially described as in a critical but stable condition, took a turn for the worse and  passed away.

It is reported that the police are not treating the death as a 'tragic accident', with the file having been passed to the coroner.
