THE Fusilier, by the side of the Grand Union Canal at Leamington Spa that was closed last November after the previous owner had a dispute with the brewery has reopened.

Though a different owner it still has the same manager, Kevin Murphy assisted by his business partner Jim Shurvinton, Roger Fox tells us.

Rowdy teenagers

This time however, Kevin does not want rowdy teenagers upsetting his older customer so has banned anyone under the age of 21, telling the Leamington Spa Courier:

"We don't want any youngsters causing trouble so we have made it for over 21s. We want to make a nice atmosphere for people but if anyone under 21 wants to come in with their parents they will be welcome."

Since being closed, the site owned by Punch Taverns Brewery, has been plagued with problems including fly-tipping and vandalism from youths gathering and drinking alcohol in the car park, but with the installation of CCTV and a manager living on site, the problems have stopped.
