Rushall now open

THOUGH Rushall Flight was closed owing to the broken beam on Lock 2, this has been replaced and the navigation now open, Keith Gudgin tells us.

The new beam has been constructed, was delivered and installed, with the lock now working properly.

Open one hour daily

During the stoppage staff were on site for one hour in the mornings between 9am and 10am to assist boats through the lock, though CaRT stated there are few boats about.

However, boaters are telling us they cannot understand how such a solid thing as a lock beam could be 'snapped off' by vandals if in good working condition.
