CEO finished Triathlon

THE Chief Executive of Canal & River Trust, Richard Parry, managed to finish the Mon & Brec Canal Triathlon (Sponsor the boss) on Saturday, telling his many supporters:

After a very enjoyable cycle from Newtown to Welshpool, the long (nearly four hours) canoeing leg nearly finished me off, but I somehow managed to keep going, and then to put one foot in front of the other for the final ten mile run to the finish. (To my surprise I was even able to stay upright after the event to give out medals to all those who completed the course,)

Fantastic turnout

It was a great event, a chance to see the whole canal from end to end, with everyone full of enthusiasm, and a fantastic turnout from all the volunteers who support the event.
