Search called off

THE search has been called off for the missing man after a body was found in a car pulled from the Avon at Evesham.

The 22 years old went missing in the early hours of last Thursday, then as the search included the river, the partly submerged car was seen by police divers and a rescue put in place to get it out of the water, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Although not formally identified, the body which was recovered from the car near the ferry crossing was believed to be that of the missing man.

In addition to the police rescue team, the Severn Area Rescue Association and others were involved in the search.
