A bad decision

FROM the responses we have received from many boaters over the months about the Inland Waterways Association hijacking the four independent boater places on Canal & River Trust, it was a bad decision.

Many were personal views, so not included in narrowboatworld, but even now, months later we are still getting boaters showing their disgust at the IWA giving up its independence.

The latest, just received from boater Neville Well is indicative of the general feeling who tells us:

'Why does this not surprise me. You got it spot on in your last paragraph, I was one of the no doubt many hundreds if not thousands who dropped their membership after the poor decision to hijack the democratic process of independent boater membership of CART. I let them know of my reasons and never received a reply or justification for their approach'.
