Boaters find body

A COUPLE on a narrowboat had the shock of finding a body floating past their boat as they cruised the Rochdale Nine through Manchester.

The police were immediately informed and the pound by the homosexual part of the city known as Manchester's Gay Village at Canal Street was cordoned off and the pound partially drained, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Recovered

The police then recovered the body, but explained that it was too early to state whether there had been suspicious circumstances or not, or how long the body had been in the water. An underwater team was used to search the waterway.

This is the same place where a man who could not swim was pushed into the canal and members of a young gang were sentenced last Friday for his manslaughter (Jail for gang in canal death.)
