Two believed drowned

TWO people are believed to have drowned on New Year's Eve in Manchester waterways after nights out.

The Manchester Ship Canal has been searched for Indian student Souvik Pal, after last being seen near Victoria Warehouse in Trafford, and the Goyt has been searched near Vernon Park where Michael Simpson was discovered missing after a party in Bredbury, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Separated

It seems Souvik Pal became separated from friends at around 10pm, who did not notice he had gone, with a flat mate reporting him missing at 5.30am the following morning.

Michael Simpson too had become separated from his friends at the party he was attending, but did not return home.
