Email: Wish it was still BW

I am really sad to read about the little shop closing at Audlem it is always a highlight of the flight. Have they given any reason? The more I see and hear about Canal & river Trust, the more I wish it was still British Waterways with all its faults we used to moan about. The new Trust seems to have a really ‘jobsworth' approach to things.

I am going to email them asking them to reconsider, and suggest that others who feel the same do too as probably a local petition will not get a lot of signatures.

I hope this is not the thin end of the wedge as there is also a lovely cake stall at the top of that flight and a farm shop on the Autherley Flight. As well as numerous egg and veg sales from gardens on all parts of the canal system towpaths.

They really do add to the interest and atmosphere of the canals and also are so handy for boaters.
