Informative and helpful

FOLLOWING recent articles and emails in these columns about the Trent & Mersey breach and CaRT's subsequent actions, the explanation from the CaRT Operations Director Vince Moran was very informative and helped explain how the contingency fund operates, writes John Kelly.

Whether or not your readers accept the explanation it is interesting to note that since CaRT has been formed, this is the third or fourth time that a senior member of the management staff has used your columns to respond to criticism from boaters.

Openess

I think this openness from the new Trust should be applauded and encouraged.

I read several boaters blogs, most of whom have been critical of the Trust's appeal for funds to help with the breach repair, especially questioning the use of the contingency fund. It will be interesting to see how many of them will comment on Mr Moran's explanation.
