Email: Not complying

Published: Wednesday, 12 September 2012

No, Simon, let's not look at this problem other than as what it really is! (The mooring problem—8/9/12.) Some people in some boats (where is not relevant) not complying with the rules!  Deliberately!

Simon might not like it, and he may have heard the arguments about them for 15 years but his thinking indicates serious wriggling in his acceptance of the rules.

And they are rules!

I, at least, will never put up with those who sometimes seem to want everyone else to accept that two wrongs do make a right!

The fact that BW/CART have not enforced the rules is no more to the point than 14 days (or whatever the restriction is) mooring meaning exactly what it says!

Just a refusal to renew any ‘offenders' licence will rid us of the problem over time, if an enforcement process cannot be ‘arranged' at this very moment.

However, I have no doubt in my mind that BW/CART can quite easily come up with an ‘industrial scale enforcement process'. The ‘bottle' is just not there.  (Besides, they want the money!) But they just won't enforce!

I am sorry but I will also not have anyone tell me (inter alia) that the answer to their housing problem is to give us visiting boaters a mooring problem!  It's barking and Simon knows it!

The chronic problem is ‘HQ', not the rules! By the way, for Simon's benefit, not everyone who has a boat is wealthy.
