Wendover Arm open

THIS morning, Thursday, the tape closing off the Wendover Arm was taken down, with the Arm once again open to boats.

It was closed when the restrictions on the Tring summit pound of the Grand Union Canal came into force, with it being opened at 8am.

However, 'our man on the spot' tells us that the pound is around 12 inches down, caused perhaps by the leaking caused when the pound was allowed to drop, leaving so much open to drying out.

However, this is not preventing the boats using it.
