Boat destroyed in fire

A BOAT was completely destroyed last night (Thursday) on the Lancaster Canal when it caught fire.

The emergency services were called out after a call that a boat was on fire on the waterway at Carnforth, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Well alight

Three fire appliances attended, but the boat was well alight when they arrived, so just a single hose was used to damp the fire down with the fire people being able to do little to save it.

The report is that no one was injured in the blaze, but that the boat was completely burnt-out.  There was no intimation has to how the fire started.
