THERE ARE INVESTIGATIONS after works were noticed taking place next to the Leicester Section of the Grand Union Canal.
This was by the waterway near Gen Parva Bridge, Janet Friend reports.
Council officials are investigating this after a mini digger was seen that had obviously been used for excavating the ground by the waterway.
Objections
Objections have been made by nearby residents, concerned at what might be the outcome.
A Blaby District Council spokesman told the area is being cleared with a mini‐digger, there's a tent on site, and two shipping containers have been placed there.
No planning application for any work on the site has been made.
