LLANGOLLEN WHARF on the Llangollen Canal is up for sale.
After a decade working the wharf, Neal and Irene Dufton have decided to sell their business, Janet Friend reports.
The pair operate horse drawn trips along the canal taking in the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, with it a thriving business and booking for this year with the sale.
Committed to run it
The couple have now put it up for sale, but are committed to run it to keep it in a viable state for a sale.
The listed price for the sale is £695,000, with Irene telling The Leader:
"We know the narrowboat business is a massive part of the town's tourism-pull.
"A lot of the coach trips that come here come on our boats before they head into town. A lot of the businesses in town rely on us and we wanted to reassure them that we're holding out to find the right person to take it on."
