THE ENVIRONMENT AGENCY has issued a red flood warning concerning the Trent at Sawley Marina and Sawley Lock.
The flood warning now in force with the agency stating:
Expected to cause flooding
'Flooding is expected for the Trent at Sawley Marina, including Sawley Lock and including low lying farms, with high river levels are expected to cause flooding'.
Areas most at risk, the agency warn are Sawley Marina including Sawley Lock, and the B6540 Tamworth Road at Sawley is also at risk.
River levels at Shardlow and Church Wilne gauge are currently rising slowly. Levels are likely to remain high until Tuesday the 10th.
Previous alert
The picture shows Sawley Lock flooded in a previous alert, with the lock under water.
Boats moored above the lock at Derby Boat Club sinking as tied tight with the centre rope and pulled over. After that particular flood, poles were inserted by each jetty so boats could then rise with the water levels.
