IT WAS WAY BACK ON THE 4th July that both the Marple and Bosley lock flights were closed.
Thus closing both the Peak Forest and Macclesfield canals, Keith Gudgin reported.

Today the 31st October, both flights have been reopened, with volunteers on the sites to assist with any boaters wanting assistance.
Not clear
It is not clear if the locks have been in use or not, as the trust tells there were restrictions in July, but there has been work undertaken on the flights obviously preventing navigation.
So it is not known if any restrictions still apply, with the reduced water supply from the Toddbrook Reservoir that is being repaired. The photograph shows us ascending Bosley Flight on the Macclesfield Canal.
