Another winter works cancelled

A WINTER works on the Kennet & Avon Canal has been cancelled.

This was for the replacement of lock beams on Copse Lock 80 at Kintbury, Keith Gudgin reports.

The work concerned repair and refurbishment works to the top and bottom lock gates that was to be undertaken from Monday 17th  February until Friday 14th March. But now the lock beams will be replaced later this year with the navigation then closed.

Replacement of lock beam only

This work will just be the replacement of the lock beams with the refurbishment work being cancelled until another winter works programme.

Though the notice from the trust states 'navigation closed', it obviously is not.
