Towpath 'not safe to pass'

A TOWPATH on the Wey Navigation has been declared 'not to pass'.
The towpath downstream of Send Church Bridge has been so declared by the National Trust, Janet Friend reports.
This was the result of a breach that lowered the water levels in the river and damaged the towpath, that is a popular walking and cycling route. A fallen tree ripped up the bank causing the breach, that however is not major.

The towpath on the Wey Navigation is near Send Church Bridge, with workers from the National Trust on site in an attempt to repair the towpath. Water levels on the Wey have been lowered temporarily to help with this work.
When finished and the breach closed, the levels will be brought up to their usual height.
