Shroppie closed until Christmas

WOODSEAVES Cutting bearing the brunt of storm Darragh has closed the Shroppshire Union Canal.
This is due to the damage the storm created in the cutting, Keith Gudgin reports.
Not only did it uproot multiple trees into the waterway but banks too have slipped into the canal caused by the excess of rain during the violent storm.
Worse
Woodseaves is between bridges 56 and 57 on the canal and is known for its landslips, but this is worse than any previous landslips.
The trust maintain it may be re-opened for Christmas week, but this seems doubtful in view of the difficulty with access to the sites.
