Two boats caught on the cill in one day

THIS month so far has seen two narrowboats caught on the cills of locks and sinking on the same day.

The South Stratford Canal was closed at Lock 47 on September 7th with a narrowboat caught on the cill and sinking.

Worcester & Birmingham Canal was also closed on the 7th September with a boat caught on the cill and sinking in Lock 58.

'Incidents'

The Canal & River Trust referred to these as 'incidents', failing to mention the cills.

But time and time again we have pushed for more detailed dangers of the cill to be shown that would surely stop so many  boaters suffering being sunk in a lock...
