Flood cancels Oxford Canal winter works

THE recent floods have caused the winter works on Little Bourton Lock (27) on the Oxford Canal to be cancelled.

It was scheduled for a gate refit but no longer going ahead, Keith Gudgin reports.

As no longer being undertaken the trust have 're-prioritised' the team to Heyford Common Lock (35) where the top gate refit is needed.

No longer closed

This means  Little Bourton Lock (27) will no longer be closed.

The stoppage was required, it is understood, to refit the top gate to reduce leaks.
