Leicester section still closed

THOUGH the Soar, in common with the other rivers, is coming out of flood, part will still be closed.

This is as the flood has caused damage to King's Lock resulting in boaters being unable to pass through the lock, Keith Gudgin reports.

Narrowboat stuck

And the navigation is closed at  Bridge 20 as a narrowboat is currently stuck across the navigation and has yet to be moved.

Canal & River Trust tell It will take time to deal with the after effects of Storm Gerrit and Storm Henk, particularly the damage caused by the significant flooding.
