Another culvert failure

THE latest culvert failure is on the Huddersfield Broad Canal.

Water from the navigation was discovered to be leaking into the culvert between locks 8 and 9 near Fartown, Keith Gudgin reports.

Now closed

This was discovered yesterday, Wednesday, and means the navigation is now closed between Falls Lock and Red Doles Lock.

There is no intimation of when it is to be inspected or a 'method of repair' undertaken, as is usual in these circumstances.
