Design model of Spagetti Junction refurbished

MANY boaters on the BCN will have experienced views of the underneath of Spaghetti Junction or Gravelly Hill Interchange as it is officially known, write Roger Fox.

The junction extends over three canals and has just celebrated its 50th birthday. An original design model has been refurbished with the intention of taking it around schools, hopefully to enthuse pupils to become engineers.

Deteriorated

Some of the structure has deteriorated and remedial works have been underway for years. Much of this has entailed vast access scaffolds over the canals—and a lot of noise as well.

Contracts have recently been let for further works going well into the future.
