TWO woman taking a walk around Foremark Reservoir near Burton-on-Trent have been fined £200 each for breaching the coronavirus lockdown regulations.

Jessica Allen and Eliza Moore were shocked to be surrounded by police and then fined as they had driven five minutes to reach the reservoir.

Not in local area

They were also told the hot drinks they had brought along were not allowed as they were classed as a 'picnic'. And having travelled to the reservoir they were not in their local area as the current lockdown states people cannot travel for exercise outside their local area.

Jessica Allen told, as they arrived there was a Derbyshire police van, a car and loads of police there and the next thing her car was surrounded, then they started questioning her.

Read their rights

They were read their rights and gave their details so they could send a fixed penalty notice.
