Stealing their fish

THE anglers of the Lee Navigation are upset because people are taking 'their' fish out of the waters to eat.

This is happening around Waltham Abbey, with the anglers reported as being 'frustrated' by the problem, as there are not enough to enable them to have 'good sport'.

Lines out in the night

People are putting lines out in the night then collecting the catch to either eat or sell on, and four fish have been discovered at the end of one line that was not retrieved.

The members of the Lee Angling Club believe that the fish being taken include carp, bream and perch.
