The logical consequences of not providing 'Publication data' within the set timescale is a possible reduction, suspension or termination of the Defra grant.

Which would mean that CaRT may have less money to use which would mean an increase in the backlog of work required which would mean an even worse situation this time next year.

Wouldn't it be prudent for CaRT to come clean and admit its shortcomings even if only to secure funding for next year. CaRT may not be capable of digging out canals but it is certainly capable of digging itself into the mire.
