THE couple Natasha Elderfield and Robert Dobinson shared a narrowboat moored on the Thames, but it all fell apart when Robert came unexpectedly back to the boat to find the new lover Tony Steggles with his trousers round his ankles with his girl friend.

Tony was about to have sex with Natasha, but a fight broke out, and it was Natasha who stabbed Robert with a kitchen knife through the heart, he instantly dying, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Sex interrupted

It was told in Oxford Crown Court that Natasha had dumped Robert in favour of Tony, with the two getting affectionate and on the point of sex when Robert came in and the fight started. When the promise of sex was being interrupted by her ex-partner, she was fed up of it.

The fight in the cramped cabin included crockery being thrown and then Robert hitting Natasha with a fire extinguisher, after which she chased him off the boat, stabbing him with the knife, right to the hilt.

She was sentenced to nine years jail after being found guilty of manslaughter.
