Timothy & Pru a danger

I AM appalled by the actions and attitude of Timothy and Pru West. They are a danger to themselves and other canal users as they crash their way around the system, writes John Wallace.

They need to be told that boating is not the 'contact sport' that they advocate. Our boats cost thousands of pounds and we don't need them being smashed about by an incompetent geriatric couple.

Cruising after dark

They also were shown in a recent programme travelling after dark on a hire boat. This is totally against good boating practice and as such they are breaching the boat's insurance terms and conditions. Who will pay if they sink another boat or kill someone whilst cruising in the dark? They will be encouraging other hirers to cruise after dark endangering themselves and the rest of us.

With the canal structures in a fragile state it won't take many more Timothy West cruises to cause a serious structural failure.

I cannot understand why they are feted and invited by boat show organizers every year. The pair of them should be barred from boating!
