Dog blinded on towpath

A VICIOUS attack by a loose fighting dog on a Pomeranian that was on a lead on a towpath, resulted in it being blinded.

The dog was being walked on the towpath of the Oxford Canal at Banbury by a family with a young girl, when a large man came past with a Japanese Akita-type dog, that without warning attacked the pet, severing its optical nerves, leaving it blind. Alan Tilbury reveals.

Devastated

The family is devastated by the attack on a much loved pet, that cannot now see, and can only wander around aimlessly, with a terrible decision having to be made.

The police want to interview the man who is described as over 6ft, stocky with a shaved head wearing knee length combat shorts.  The dog is described as being a very distinctive dark brown with light brown legs.
