Mind the cars

IT IS getting to the state on the Llangollen Canal where it is not boats you have to look out for when cruising, but cars, especially around Froncysyllte.

The second car in just a month has rolled into the waterway at the village just before the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct,  with just its roof being seen above water, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Locals know better

The grass by the side of the canal is used for parking cars, but the locals know better than to park facing the waterway, always parking sideways on.  Photograph by Josh Jones.

But visitors it seems don't have that much sense, even though the grass slopes down to the water, leaving their cars parked and most likely not in gear, so any hand brake failure—and splash!
