Internet while cruising

Published: Wednesday, 04 December 2013

HAVING travelled for six months last year using a mifi unit for internet access. (Which was far less than reliable) and costing £28 per month through Orange, I am sure that through narrowboatworld, somebody has found a cheaper solution to accessing the internet whilst cruising, writes Peter Ponting.

At home I have a btinternet.com email account which entitles me to free BT wifi hotspots which are apparently everywhere over the country, yet very difficult to find on a narrowboat.

Wireless routers

I have looked at 3G wireless routers but they do not seem to fit the bill.

Can anybody help as I know this is a growing business within the canal user network.
