THE National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port is staging a special event over Easter.

This is the Easter Historic Boat Gathering, that takes place over the weekend starting with a horse-drawn boat heading a fleet of narrowboats with many new attractions and steam engines actually in steam in its Power Hall.

A special event will be Flower towing the cargo boat Saturn giving demonstrations on the Saturday and Sunday. And the centre stage will be 'alive' with music and activities for the whole family.

There will be demonstrations of all kinds, boat rides and lots to see and get involved in.

There will be food, hot and cold drinks at The Waterside Café (10am to 4pm). And a range of beers at the Toll House Inn.

Something new to the museum will be a demonstration of photogrammetry technology, that provides 3D access to historic artifacts.
