No boats mentioned

I JUST had to react to a comment by the chair of the trust board, David Orr CBE, writes David Cavill:

"Our canals are enjoying a renaissance and are well placed to offer a valuable service to society, not least in playing a vital role in nature recovery and providing access to quality green space for millions of people."

No mention of boats!

I wonder sometimes whether they should concrete up the locks and just turn the system into a canal theme park with cardboard mockups of traditional narrowboats and pantomime horses!
