Wood End Lift Bridge packs-up again after three days!

IT WAS on Monday that Wood End Bridge was again repaired and reopened, but is out of order again!

This Peak Forest Canal bridge was given the all-clear on Monday until the 7th November when work is to be done.

Did not last that long

But it did not manage to last until the 7th November but failed yesterday, Thursday, this time by the somewhat regular 'electrical fault'.

We are told that contractors have been informed and they are expected to be on site today.

The work scheduled for November entails removing the old bearings and hydraulic cylinder, with it taken for overhaul which is estimated to take three days to complete. [A different picture for a change!]
